State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC) is the country’s largest life insurer — state-owned since 1972, with the Endowment plan as its classic product: pay premiums for the policy term, and get the sum assured plus accumulated bonuses at maturity; your family gets it immediately if something happens to you in between. Our free State Life calculator projects your plan’s maturity value from the sum assured, term, and current bonus rates — so you can see what decades of premiums actually return.

How State Life Endowment Works

  • Sum assured: the face value you choose (e.g. Rs 1,000,000)
  • Premium: monthly/quarterly/annual payments for the full term (10, 15, 20+ years)
  • Bonus: State Life declares annual bonuses (rupees per thousand of sum assured) that accumulate and pay out at maturity or claim
  • Maturity value = sum assured + accumulated bonuses (+ terminal bonuses if declared)
  • Death benefit: sum assured + bonuses to date, paid to nominees — the core purpose of life insurance
  • Surrender value: if you exit early, you get a (usually disappointing) reduced value after the early years

How to Use

  1. Enter your sum assured and policy term.
  2. Enter/confirm the annual bonus rate (editable).
  3. Click Calculate — projected maturity value, total premiums, and net gain appear.

Example

Rs 1,000,000 sum assured, 20-year term: total premiums ≈ Rs 600,000 (at ~Rs 30,000/year); with average bonuses, maturity lands around Rs 1.4–1.6 million — the “profit” is modest because life insurance is protection first, investment second. Pure investment products (mutual funds, DSC) historically return more; insurance pays when tragedy strikes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is State Life safe?

It’s state-owned and the market leader — claims settlement is the industry’s benchmark concern, and SLIC’s scale is its strength.

Insurance or investment — what am I buying?

Protection with a savings component. If your goal is pure growth, endowment plans usually lose to mutual funds/DSC; if your goal is family protection, nothing replaces the death benefit.

What happens if I stop paying premiums?

The policy can lapse or convert to a paid-up (reduced) policy per its terms — read the revival/surrender clauses before signing.

Are maturity proceeds taxable?

Life insurance maturity/death proceeds have specific tax treatments under the Income Tax Ordinance — confirm with a tax consultant for your case.
