A Pakistani IBAN is 24 characters: PK + 2 check digits + 4-letter bank identifier + 16-digit account number. Check digits are computed with the ISO 13616 mod-97 algorithm.
Freelancer ko client ne IBAN manga, bank form bharte hue account number mismatch, ya international transfer ke liye branch/account se IBAN generate karna hai? Pakistan adopted the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) standard under SBP rules — every Pakistani account has a 24-character IBAN, and payments fail if even one character is off. Our free IBAN calculator generates/validates Pakistani IBANs from your bank and account number using the official mod-97 check.
Pakistan’s IBAN Format (24 Characters)
PK (country code) + 2 check digits + 4-letter bank code + 16-digit account number. Example: PK36 SCBL 0000 0011 2345 6702.
The two check digits come from the mod-97 algorithm (ISO 13616): reorder, convert letters to numbers, divide by 97 — the remainder should be 1; the check digits are chosen to make that true. This catches typos and transposed digits before money goes astray.
How to Use
- Select your bank (or enter the 4-letter bank code).
- Enter your 16-digit account number.
- Click Calculate — your IBAN appears, with the mod-97 validation shown.
- Share the IBAN (not raw account digits) for incoming transfers.
Notes
- Your IBAN is printed on chequebooks and available in every bank’s app (Account details) — this tool is a generator/checker for forms and clients.
- For international transfers you also need the bank’s SWIFT/BIC code — IBAN identifies the account, SWIFT identifies the bank to the world.
- Wrong IBAN = returned transfer and fee deductions abroad. Verify before sending to a client.

ISO 13616 validation: a valid IBAN’s rearranged numeric value mod 97 equals 1. It catches ~99% of typing errors.

Raast and IBFT work with account numbers too, but IBAN minimises errors and is required by many payroll/client systems.
