CSD Calculator Pakistan
Estimate CSD prices and savings versus the open market.
Disclaimer: CSD discounts vary by item and branch; this is an estimator.
CSD (Canteen Stores Department) is Pakistan’s armed-forces canteen network famous for one thing: selling cars, bikes, and home appliances at canteen prices — including on instalments (hire purchase) to entitled personnel. If you’re pricing a fridge, LED TV, or AC through CSD, our free CSD calculator works out the real deal: down payment, monthly instalment, and total cost under the hire-purchase markup — so you can compare it with the open market and bank financing honestly.
How CSD Hire Purchase Works
- Cash price: CSD prices are typically below market (the canteen advantage)
- Down payment: a percentage of the price paid upfront (plan rules set the share)
- Instalment plan: the balance is spread over months (commonly 12–36) with a hire-purchase markup — the monthly figure the calculator shows
- Total cost = down payment + (monthly instalment × months) — compare this total, never the monthly alone, against market cash price and bank loans
- Eligibility follows CSD’s entitlement rules (serving/retired armed forces personnel and entitled categories)
How to Use
- Enter the item’s CSD cash price.
- Enter the down payment % and the plan tenure (months).
- Confirm/adjust the markup rate (editable).
- Click Calculate — down payment, monthly instalment, and total payable appear.
Example
LED TV cash price Rs 120,000, 25% down (Rs 30,000), balance over 24 months at 20% markup: monthly ≈ Rs 4,500, total ≈ Rs 138,000. Market cash price for the same model: say Rs 132,000. CSD’s instalment premium is small here — and the market may not offer instalments at all without a credit card. The calculator makes that comparison obvious.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can buy from CSD?
Primarily serving and retired armed forces personnel and other entitled categories per CSD rules — check your nearest CSD for current entitlement and verification.
Are CSD prices really lower?
Often yes on the cash price (canteen pricing). The instalment total with markup can approach market prices — always compare totals.
What can be bought on CSD instalments?
Historically appliances, electronics, motorcycles, and cars under plan-specific rules; availability varies by store and scheme.
CSD instalment vs bank car/appliance loan?
Banks are open to all but need income proof and charge KIBOR-based markup; CSD plans are simpler for entitled persons. Run both through the calculators and compare total cost.
