Rates announced by the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) for 2026. Pay before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer.

Sadqa-e-Fitr (Fitrana) is the charity every Muslim pays before Eid-ul-Fitr prayers — for themselves and each dependent — so that no one goes hungry on Eid. The amount equals the value of staple food per person, and the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) announces official rates in Pakistan each Ramadan. Our free fitrana calculator applies the CII’s announced rates per person to your family size instantly.

CII Announced Rates (Ramadan 2026)

Per person, per the Council of Islamic Ideology:

  • Wheat (gandum): Rs 300
  • Barley (jau): Rs 1,100
  • Dates (khajoor): Rs 1,600
  • Raisins (kishmish): Rs 3,800
  • Munqa (dried grapes): Rs 5,400

Paying on wheat — the most common practice in Pakistan — a family of six owes 6 × 300 = Rs 1,800. Those who wish to give more generously can choose barley, dates, raisins, or munqa — all valid.

How to Use

  1. Enter the number of family members (yourself included — Fitrana is due per person, including children and dependents).
  2. Select the commodity (wheat is standard; the others are voluntary upgrades).
  3. Click Calculate — your total Fitrana appears.
  4. Pay before the Eid prayer (it can be given during Ramadan; paying early is better).

Notes

  • Fitrana is wajib on every Muslim who possesses wealth beyond basic needs — head of household typically pays for dependents.
  • Rates are re-announced each Ramadan; this page carries the 2026 CII announcement.
  • Fitrana purifies the fast and feeds the poor on Eid — delaying past the prayer makes it ordinary charity.

FAQs

Who must pay Fitrana?

Every Muslim with wealth beyond essential needs — paid for oneself and one’s dependents (children, elderly parents you support).

When must Fitrana be paid?

Before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer. Giving it during Ramadan (even early) is valid and better for distribution.

Which commodity should I pay on?

Wheat (Rs 300/person in 2026) is the standard Pakistani practice. Barley, dates, raisins, and munqa are all valid options for those who can give more.

Is Fitrana different from Zakat?

Yes — Fitrana is a fixed per-person amount tied to Ramadan/Eid; Zakat is 2.5% of qualifying wealth annually. Our zakat calculator covers that one.

What if I can’t afford it?

Fitrana is only due from those with means beyond basic needs — the genuinely poor are its recipients, not its payers.
